Well, latest development..

Driver's side door switch, the one that tells the cluster and dome light whether or not the door is closed, seems to be giving me trouble.

Whenever I go over bumps, or get sideways, the light on the cluster likes to blink on and off. I've looked at the connections, and that's not the issue. Also tried a ghetto extension of the door fix with no good results.

Anyone have any insight? Little **** like this pisses me off.

They're VERY simple switches dude.

However, know that they're just connecting to ground, so if there's a short to ground ANYWHERE in any of the wiring, both doors, dome light, all of it, it'll cause your symptoms.

I might have a spare one in my toolbox though.

Was cleaning some trunk stuff and noticed this:

Not sure how i missed this before, but it has some line and an electrical connector (obviously not plugged in) and i have no idea what it is. Anyone have any idea?

Nothing in the FSM i can find, and was honestly too lazy to dig into the car anymore. Obviously it's not effecting anything, but I really do want to know what its for.

I think it's part of the evap system but don't hold me to it, I do know that my legacy has the same exact thing in roughly the same spot.
Yep, that's what im thinking. I'm sure i don't need it. I already have my evap setup to run the OBD1 jap stuff the way the FSM says it needs to be run.. I'll probably take it out in the next day or two and see where it goes to.

Got my COTM 2nd place prize in the mail today.

Thanks to Jeff and everyone else, this is pretty cool!

Now to get that JDM plate mount so I could possibly actually use the plate surround haha..

Got this in the mail as a birthday gift.. was said to be for a GC STi.

Went to go put it on and first of all, it didn't match up to the intercooler. Not even close. Was WAY too skinny and WAY too long.

The front three bolts for the scoop went in place, but the rears weren't even close:

(Took the scoop off to test fitment)

If this WAS the right part, I'm pretty damn disappointed at fitment, ESPECIALLY for it being a Zerosports part.

Also, been fighting a knock sensor CEL.. think the non OEM sensor is starting to crap out.. AHHHGG today was pretty disheartening :(

Gonna try it on the fozzy. Was my first thought too. There is actually erased sharpie you can see in the right light on it that says "Forester Subaru".

Doesn't fit an 04+ Impreza scoop, but DOES work on a Bugeye STi IC (thought it seemed small)... but haven't confirmed it works on the bugeye scoop. Sometimes it's nice having friends with a ton of spare parts laying around. I'm pretty convinced it's for a Fozzy of sorts. Nothing on Z/S' website thought that would suggest that.. but then again it's their US site I was looking at.

Nonetheless, was advertised as a GC8 one.. and i should have known better than to trust importers.

Still no more CEL from the knock sensor. Think it did the trick :)

Also, got this in today after being needed to be done almost three years ago. 05 WRX Clutch MC + slave and hardline (which looks to be bent in a weird way). 11/16s bore instead of the RS which has, i believe a smaller bore. Also, IIRC the JDM STi MC had a 5/8s bore, which 11/16s is SLIGHTLY bigger than. Also, it has the shorter, wider and displaced reservoir so it's proper for a turbo car and my intercooler shouldn't hit it when the engine torques.

This should give me better clutch feel, since I've been pushing a clutch made to hold ~300tq with an MC that's made to push a clutch that can hold ~100tq. Bigger bore should also mean less movement from my foot needed to move the clutch since more fluid will be going to the slave. Definitely a necessary thing.

Should be getting it on sometime next week. Can't wait!

Also came with the slave with the clutch delay valves the 04+ WRX/STis got because people kept blowing up transmissions. WON'T BE NEEDING THAT.
