That may be partially true about the Honda sound w/o the vtec LOL.
You can give it the boxer rumble if you have a good exhaust guy that knows how to route the plumbing correctly.
You will have to manipulate the header by cutting it though.
Nothing like spending $ 300.00 then cutting it to shit...LOL

If you look for equal length header for your car, OBX is a very good value, as its similar to COBB equal length header without the COBB's price.

But personally, I prefer the unequal length header, the engine sound is soooo damn great with UEL header on. Besides, you already paid for a Subaru, why not to bring out the character of it?

The header doesn't cause large changes in mpg. I saw about 0.5mpg lower with my setup but 5-10 ft-lb gains everywhere, a little more at the extremes.

williaty has a good comparison between the OBX and Borla headers on the same car. The OBX made more power everywhere and decently significantly so, enough where I wonder to guess if the Borla makes very much over stock at all.

The sound can be greatly influenced by what hardware you run after the header. Don't think the header is the sole thing influencing all the sound.

Just listened to that vid. Sounds a lot like mine (mongrel cheapo catback on mine tho). No one who's heard mine thinks it sounds like a Honda. If you've heard a Honda with similar mods, there's no comparison.

On the other hand, if you've been around race-prepped flat 4s and flat 6s, you could make a case that the OBX headers make it sound more Porsche-like. Certainly, there's more resemblance there than to Hondas. But hey, I did it for the power, too. MPG is about the same IF you drive it the same (I get 27-28). If you run it redline before shifting all the time with it, it's going to be worse... Possibly it could be improved with a tune/reflash. I don't know.
