If you're looking to build a turbo motor, you'll want an EJ22T, the NA EJ22 blocks aren't the same as the EJ22T's. The turbos have fully closed decks and are the strongest blocks Subaru as turned out, I believe. The early 90's Legacy turbo's are what you want to look for, 91-93, I believe.

What all cars have EJ22 or EJ22T motors??? Well first of all do you know what you are talking about??? Just wondering??? Anyways Im not trying to be a dick but you want to know what? Where those engines come from? Well the EJ22 comes out of the low model imprezas such as the L and OBS... The "EJ22T" came out of the 89-92 legacy turbos... Just some info...

the original 2.2 is out of the 89-90 legacies up through 1994. The American ej22t started in 1991 through 1994.

Depending upon how much boost you are running, the plain old NA 2.2 from 90-94 will take up to 10 psi fairly reliably. I am running 6 psi via an Eaton M62 Supercharger on a 1990 NA 2.2.

you best check your info if you think that a ej22 and a ej22t have the same potential turbo wise.
