Never heard of that happening before...

 

New one on me. What wing do you have? If it's the stockwing, it must be cracked. Or if you have one that's got a movable center section, like a 22b wing, the seals are probably not sealing.

 

i feel you man. My trunk has little droplets of water. Also when i went to look at my spare tire, there was puddle of water where my spare tire was sitting. I think it is a seal that went but not sure? Here is a picture after i removed the puddle from my trunk.

 

i had this happen as well, but probably not the same wing. i called the people who sold it to me and they said it would be fine. it would take a few days to evaporate. he was right and it went away in a few days. i would say dont worry.

 

I got the WRC Style wing.....i was just surprised that this is happening.....i wil see if it evaporates when the hot temperatures come.....if not im gona have to take it out and see what the problem is.........

 

This happens to my roomates 2000 he has the V5 Sti wing. Every rain storm = puddle in spare tire area...

If you don't remove the water it startes to smell bad after a while. Also if you are going to remove the water check to the sides of the trunk also, there are 2 gaping caves at either side of the trunk inside the trunk that can hold up to 4 cups of moldy smelly water.

 

as for h2o in the spare tire area, are you sure that it's sealed well w/ silicone around the bolts? If it's not sealed, water will get in there, and that's the only place it will get in.

My problem with water is that the sunroof drain tube came out of the bulkhead. Easy fix, difficult to clean up.

water will be getting into your wing and then transfreing into your trunk. You need to silicone your wing bolts good and then it won't go into your trunk. and water sitting in the bottom of your trunk isn't good either, water and oxygen cause rust.......eventually sitting there for a long time will create a rust spot.
