I took him out to look at a 93L wagon. 201k Second owner and hes had it since 90k. The body was pretty good, a couple dings but its in downtown seattle, there was only 2 issues I had with it. The first, the outter door trim was chewed from the roof rack, doesnt leak but doesnt look pretty. Has anyone ever replaced this? Maybe some of you chrome L guys?

Second was the clutch, he said it was a brand new clutch, it felt ok except for sometimes when shifting a bit quick the clutch felt like it would stick a bit then engage hard, with this the pedal itself felt slow to retract unlike my either of my scoobs. Other than that, the car ran strong and its the only L wagon, or really L (awd 5sp) thats been for sale around here for months. the guy is asking 2400, bb is 2300 for good, and 1800 for fair, he wants to offer him 2k.

The trim you are thinking of is a little tricky to replace. you need to open the doors, pull off the rubber window seal, then there are a bunch of philip head screws. You will prob break some of the little clips holding the window seal in, but you can get them cheep from the dealer. Reinstalling the seal is kind of a pain, you have to sit there with a little flat head screwdriver or something like that and press it in a little bit at a time.

I recently purchased a 1993 Red L wagon 5spd with AWD. I love the car! It's bad ass. Slow as a turd out of an old mans ass but it's bad ass. (How was that for an analogy?) :D

I paid 1500 I think 2400 is a little steep. Mine has 240k miles so i guess it's close but 2400 is deffo a lot IMO. The clutch feels a little weird because it's of the cable engagement variety vs. the hydraulic system the RS has. It feels weird. Going from the L to the RS and vice versa back to back is weird. As a result the friction point is usually found quite a distance from full clutch depression. The shifter also feels like a VW bus lever too. Sadly there are no short shifters AFAIK. Might want to find out the gas mileage on it too. My 1.8 seems to get between 15-20 mpg. That was a nice "Surprise!" Good luck!

Well he offered him 2k, and he brought it home tonight. Tomorrow is our road trip so we'll really get to check out the mileage. Garret that seems kinda low, our L is about the same as the RS mid to high 20's on average.

I saw the same scoob. Was thinking about picking it up but have seen 1997+ wagons for only 2000 with the same mileage, Here in Seattle. Good luck.
Were they a 5spd and AWD? I see a decent amount of imprezas but the 5spd awd's are hard to find. Theres a 95 coupe with 220k, 4eat for 2600 on CL right now.
