"Life in the way" sucks. I feel that all the time. You'll get there though! Having as house opens up so much freedom, especially for working on cars. Sweet deal on the 257! and the Bug...!

Thanks! Yea what I really want right now is an enclosed garage. I've been working on my car in an open garage and it just sucks.

I thought you had fixed the wiring on the coupe? Glad to see the bugI will be saved, don't see many around here anymore.
yea I thought I tracked it down. Drove it around for a day and then my starter went out again. I've ripped all the wiring out, but with this new EJ257 motor, I'm just going to send in my harness to IWire and get it over with. Better piece of mind :).

Yea I had to save the Bugeye. Body is in decent shape. Clear coat is coming off, but what is more important is that all the wiring is still intact and the guy just replace his blown tranny with an 05 so all I really need to do is drop in a motor and plug everything up.

I'll log the Bugeye and RS as I work on both. For now the Bugeye is going to get some attention for now since I'm trying to get this one on the road ASAP.

The day I picked it up. I'm in the process of cleaning up the inside and outside of it. I will post up progress pictures as I get to them. The guy def had a lot of fun with this car as the whole underside is caked in dirt that's been crusted on for god knows now long it's been sitting. Also going to tackle doing some minor paint work to the car. Mainly just strip the clear coat and re-apply a fresh layer of clear.

is that static height on the STi? jeez. i really like XD9s. even on weaker offsets they still give a good illusion of having a lip.

Don't hate me, but the STI is on bags HAHA. My argument is that I already have a bad ass (to me) RS that is on it's way to be a DD/track monster haha. Honestly when I drive these cars around I'm rarely in boost. The STI I use to just cruise around and it's convenient to be on air suspension so I don't have to worry about speed bumps or driveways.

Good stuff! My bugeye is in meh condition paint wise.

Yea this one is pretty terrible as well.

A little late to the party, but I endorse these Bugeye plans and I love the driving image of the RS. I had the image of it parked in your garage saved as my background awhile ago, I dig your build.

It's never too late! Thanks!

Okay so a little bit more of an update on the bugeye. I just could not stand looking at all the clear coat peeling from the car and I did not want to pay anyone for doing it as much as I dread doing body work. So I jumped on youtube and started to watch videos on how to repair Clear Coat peeling haha. This is what I had to work with....

So I watched enough videos and started to sand down the area with 400 grit. This was when I found out that this car obviously had a shitty paint job aside from Subaru's already thin terrible paint haha. I started sanding a little and load and behold I had already went through the base coat. So I just started to go ham on the roof and strip as much as I could.

Taking off this much material ment that I would need to lay down a new coat of primer and base coat. So I watched more youtube videos and proceeded since I was already committed. Bought all the material and started to mask off the area.

I'm not looking for professional results, but anything will look better than how it looks right now. I ran out of primer and had to buy more so I had to stop from here. Waiting on the primer to come in and lay down the rest and sand the primer for the base coat and clear. Will update again after that.

I also started to transfer some things over from the GC to the GD. Since I'm bringing over the whole motor with all the mods and ECU, that ment that the FMIC would also have to come over. So I mounted the FMIC and cut out the bumper to fit it. Wasn't too bad and the car looks way cooler now haha.

With work and the heat down here, I only work on this thing a couple hours a day. Will have more updates once I start laying down the base coat and clear.

Love the DIY attitude!

Woohoo, glad to see the RS isn't getting thrown out. I just saw an old pic of your car an hour ago and wondered what happened to it.
