So i searched and nothing else goes in deeper than my rotors are warped or i have brake material embedded into my old rotors, well.. i put new rotors on my car today and the wheel still shakes. ball joints look perfect there's no play in them at all. i wouldnt know what to look for in checking a strut but i took the little rubber cap off the top and it looks perfect in there too. lug nuts are torqued to 70ft lbs. i'm at a loss what else would cause shaking during braking only ? doesnt shimmy on acceleration either. only when you hit the brakes does it shake.

i didnt replace my pads because there's a good 7/16ths of pad left on them.

bent hub?

Get the rotors surfaced on the car, you may have a hub that is slightly out or a rotor that isn't perfectly parallel. Be sure also to clean the hub well so there isn't any rust or paint preventing the rotors from sitting flat.

So I've since changed all my braking components (pads rotors) and have changed one of the front calipers (so now both front calipers are newer [10,000 miles]) and have checked that all slides function properly. My parents recently switched insurance to progressive and they got those things you plug into the OBD II port to see if you're a safe driver. Basically it just senses how quickly you stop/how hard you hit the brake. apparently I hit the brake pretty hard. So I've stopped vin dieseling my brakes. I think maybe a combination of this and delivering pizza (high braking frequency and heavy braking) might have destroyed my rotors. Idk. thoughts?

I took my caliper off and noticed that the guide rod on one side was not only dry but also a little rusty. I honed out the guide hole and removed any dries grease debris. Put the guides in a drill and wet sanded the rust off(was only surface). Greased the heck out of both caliper guides and shoe guides and the shaky steering wheel stopped. I guess one side of the gliding caliper was getting stuck
