What do I need to install a speedo gear?

I have an 05 legacy transmission that comes stock without the speed sensor system

Now that I swapped a wrx engine in, I need to install a speedo gear so that I can get a speed signal to my ecu.

Does anyone know what parts are needed to make my speed sensor work with the transmission?

What do you mean there isn't a sensor? Or you mean yours didn't come with one? cause there def should be on in that trans. If it isn't in the car yet the gear is inside the bell housing. And a PAIN to get to. Get a GPS that tells you speed and just go by that....

buy a wrx speed sensor and screw it in. Then wire it right into your harness.

Gaddis, those silly Ejs like to cut at 4500rpm without a vss.

I have a speed sensor from my RS, the problem is that there is no speedo gear inside the transmission for the sensor to connect with....is the WRX sensor different?

AFAIk no, because its just a little brass fitting with a flathead screwdriver slice cut in it.
You will have to tear apart the trans to install the brass gear
