Is it legal to cut around the license plate so the numbers and letters would be visible? I am looking to cut it to make it look like how it is in Japan and the Uk. that would be sweet if I was allowd. canada said they are allowd to cut them only. has anyone asked or know where to ask about this?

Ive seen it twice now, and when I was at a subaru dealer they said u can cut it, but it has to leave the numbers, or it have to be a plate in which is describable. For example a Coca Cola licence plate. Im sure on these but would love to know the truth.

I think so ben... when i lived in custer i remeber hearing about it from my Folks... No front license plates.... I wish i didn't have this ugly front bumper on my car with its ugly license plate piece...... otherwise i'd take mine off... and i live in cali lol.

The no front plate initiative hasn't passed yet, as we still have to vote on it. It is legal to cut the plate down though, you have to leave the numbers, and still have the washington part on it too... everything else can go, and it does look a little bit better. I need to get a front plate as my car didn't come with one, and I've already been pulled over for it once... or this initiative needs to hurry up and get passed!

DUde when did this law start acting upon? I gotta vote on this one! Do you know where to vote? Yeah i'm going to cut mine. without a licence plate, there is that bracket which kinda looks bad if there isn't anything on it.
