PMPautogroup aka Pmp Auto Specialties LLC, PMP auto group, Peter Donato

I just wanted to post this here incase anyone had planned on getting any parts from PMPAutoGroup. The owner has a large amount of communication issues when something comes back to him. Be sure to look else where for any parts or motors. He is not a official vendor on here luckily.

He sold me a 2004 WRX engine. Engine arrived with no intercooler, missing coilpacks, TGVs were gunked... I also found out recently he lied to me about the year of the engine and it is actually a 02-03. Former employees call him the devil and even admitted he lies about advertising the mileage. Be sure not to buy from him, it also appears he gets employees and friends to give him positive reviews where people have displayed their horror stories.

-------------

His communication starts to crumble when you have an issue with the parts you already purchased. When you have one customer complain of communication... yeah that might be just one odd customer but when you have several... that is a vendor issue.

Feedback from others... see a trend?

-Sent wrong part, did not send promised replacement. Horrible communication. Buyer Zaider(11) 10-02-2012
-Buyers beware Buyer 03.dub.r.x(6) 08-07-2012
-Seller misrepresented product and refused to cover MY costs of returning the mis Buyer Scargo(0) 06-10-2011

"Not with me. Pete was willing to resolve my situation only if I spent more money. I paid for a certain about of items and didn't receive them. That to me is not resolving an issue. I am totally over it at this point but it's clear that he and his business have very bad communication skills, which oh yeah comes with being a business and vendor on a forum that has a PM system so complaining about getting over 30 PMs a day is no excuse. Get your self a system to keep track of. Ignorance."

"Buyer beware they are crooks. No communication."

PLEASE NO ONE buy from this hack cause he will butcher your part over charge you and ignore you when you complain or just make excuses as to why he isn't responsible for the bad parts your getting.

"Exactly my point... a customer is unhappy and you cut ties and say get lost and insult them."

i only had one purchase from him.

he is semi local company.

i bought an engine from him and it failed within the 60 day window, he got me another one.

it has been fine since.

he buys a lot of the salvage wrecked cars off of ridesafely.com and then parts them out or fixes them and sells them as R titles since he also has a body shop in another town.

some of the smaller guys complain about him bullying them out of the good deals during the auctions.

They are located not far from where I used to live in PA. About a year before I moved they started buying up all the good Subarus from Copart in Pennsburg. I lost out a bunch of cars I wanted.

Then I started to see them parting out the cars from Copart on craigslist and nasioc with not so great feedback.

I had a feeling they were shady from the beginning so I never did business with them. Can't really say why, just put out a bad vibe.

So you never came to our shop, walked around or talked with us, but you got a bad vibe and shady feeling because we bought the cars you wanted at auction?

I welcome you to come down and talk to us, and meet us before you form a opinion and then express it on an open internet forum.

Ive never been to red lobster, and you wont catch me bad mouthing them either...

So how is everyone paying!? If it was Paypal it shouldn't be a problem, send his stuff back provide Paypal the tracking number and open a case, I've got my money back a couple of times that way.

Ill throw a little gas on the fire...

I dont care for Peter, ive talked to him and personally he's a ****. Hes in a few of our local subaru groups and he does run his mouth a bit, but hes very smart about how/what he sells his parts for. You can buy an STI seat for like $200, but he'll rail you something like $80 for a hub, he knows what parts people will buy and what they will pay for them.

Going back to December, my buddy buys an 04 WRX, he locks it up. So the logical choice was to call up Peter and get a motor, hes always eager to sell you something, answering any questions you have etc etc, now my buddy is a full time student upstate NY about 2 hours from home. We pull the motor out and he drives to peter to get one, he drops $1800 for a motor and we drive home. Hes 2 hours west of us. He said the motor was recently running, yatta yatta yatta all that sales pitch stuff, we take the motor apart to swap the clutch/flexplate over and figure the motor has been sitting a while so we do a once over, swap over some needed parts and install it.

After purchasing the motor, like everyone stated above, it seems as if he wants nothing to do with us. His workers seem to care just as much, when we got there the first time, theres maybe 3 people in the whole place, were walking around with our thumbs up our asses looking for somebody.

It starts, a little rough but nothing crazy. We warm it up, check it over and test drive it, the motor locks up about 5 mins down the road, locks up to the point of catching fire and making a mess of the engine bay but we had an extinguisher so we put it out. Peter agrees to exchange the motor with his 30 or 60 whatever day guarentee. Hes at school so his dad drives 2 hours out to swap the motor out, his pops gets there and Peter tells him he cant give him a new motor until he takes this one apart, Peter and his dad argued for quite a while with us on the phone as well.

He sends his dad back empty handed, now a few weeks later (with no car at school) his dad went out to pick up the "new" motor. He gets back last night and we open the truck up, Peter put his old heads and intake back on a used shortblock, and never installed the exhaust manifold or turbo on the new block either. So now we have heads off a blown motor, and no turbo/exhaust to use. He wont bring the parts out either, so now he has to make another 4 hour trip and blow $80 in gas to pick up parts that he was supposed to give us.

Thats enough to read, you get the idea.

This story is basically a fabrication-

Your buddy bought an engine-

It failed within warranty-

He brought it back, we told him we will contact him after we inspect the failed engine- (We need to make sure it didnt fail due to installer error)

We call him back, his dad picks up a replacement engine- It had NO old parts on it. It was a completely different engine-

/End story.

Good luck. This sounds just like what happened to me. Peter will act all nice at first but when you keep finding missing parts he will ignore you and do as much as possible to ship you the stuff you need. I still have all of the PMs from him for my records as well. I know two people from NASIOC are taking him to small claims court.

Crazy! PMP is the group that I got my used motor from a couple months back. A few hiccups with communication but received the engine within 3 weeks (delayed due to Christmas and snowstorms) Only major issue was the shipping company stated I had to come and pick it up even though I paid for curb side delivery. Called Peter and told him the issue, he called the shipping company and the engine was delivered to my house that afternoon. I guess I must have been a lucky one.

Hope everything works out for you man!

You where'nt Lucky.. 99% of our transactions go swimmingly-

But this is a used parts business, not everything is perfect. **** happens. We work very hard to keep everyone happy, but sometimes bending over backwards isnt enough.

I'm glad we could help you out.

My brother bought 2.5 motor from him for his rs. He did not get the motor installed within his 30 day warranty because he was saving up for timing belt, clutch, valve cover gaskets and tune up. Had me install all that and put the motor in and it had a rod knock right off the bat. We were only about 10 days past the warranty and even with proof of receipts for most of the parts within that last week from install he still said we drive the motor the will not warranty it. He is a prick to speak to and doesn't really care about his reputation on forums.

Yup, posting on an internet forum will not restore your warranty-

Your engine failed out of warranty-

We offered you a replacement for 45% of the originals cost-

You declined because you wanted a full replacement-

We offer a 30 day warranty on our parts, after that. Its not covered, I believed our reduced cost offer was above and beyond what any other salvage yard would do.

Peter Donato is has very bad business and communication skills. Buyers please do beware of PMP Auto Group.

My review on PMPAutoGroup in one simple statement.

A relationship without trust is like having a phone with no service. And what do you do with a phone with no service? You play games.

Let me jump in for a second. Since either Peter or his coworker is in here.

I myself have bought a few parts never an engine at a fair price I couldn't find else where. Recently have contacted him on a few parts prices were higher than what I've saw, but I drop it at that point.

Seeing how Peter does business isn't said a "bad way" he's just to the point and blunt. I don't bother trying to finagle prices because I know it'll get no where. But do I believe his business is ****? No

Being a smaller company you run into it, you also have to remember that yes communication is key, but lets put food for thought on this. During my builds I've gone through 3 performance shops already. 2 "forgot" about me, the other one just neglected what I needed with cash in hand.

Every small business or just anyone in general will have negative feedback from SOMEWHERE!

I myself like the way Peter does business, maybe not some of his prices, but all in all he's a straight asshole. Maybe not the best quality but I prefer the no bullshit approach in a shop. Either he has it or he doesn't, if the price isn't what I would like it to be I just don't respond back.

My thoughts for the day on this. I'm not backing either side just putting an open minded post in the matter

To everyone else here. I am the Owner of Pmp Auto Group-

We are a small, specialized Subaru only salvage yard in Pa.

We have 7 employees, Plus myself.

We have been in business for 3 years now, We sell close to 1 million in subaru parts per year.

We are not perfect, we are selling used parts.

I am available Via PM on nasioc, Txt message, 2 phone lines, and our email address- We do get busy, and I am the point of contact here. But we do respond as fast as we can. Note that we are closed Sundays and Mondays and we dont respond to anything during those days.

We have 64 positive feedback on Nasioc, 243 On ebay, and 12 positive on Legacy GT-

We are not a vendor here, so we dont try and market parts here, nor do I check this website often. Sorry for this. A good customer of our brought this to my attention today.

All of our parts come with 30 day warranty's

Its hard to keep your nose squeaky clean in the salvage business, some of the complaints we have absolutely dropped the ball on, Some we can chalk it up to the fact that no matter what we did, we couldn't make that person happy.

If you ever have any issues about doing business with us, I invite you to call me, or even visit me.

I thank you for your time.
