My dash was wrapped in suede by previous owner, and now is all faded and discolored by the sun. I removed the suede and the adhesive but the dash looks crappy. So ive decided to use black vinyl spray paint.to make it look a bit better, my question is, should i use a clear coat on top.of the paint, and if so what type of clear?

a clear coat on top of the dash is gonna create some wicked glare! your best bet would be either to rewrap it for the awesome no glare or use a matte type of paint made for that, maybe post up a pic and we can help you out more?

Dash covers aren't glued down. Just a few piece of velcro to keep it from sliding around. If the airbag deploys, the dash cover is just gonna get pushed up and airbag will deploy normally.

And that's why you velcro it in place. If you're worried that somehow the airbag is going to cause it to launch the dash cover at your face, then put more velcro on the back side of it (closer to the window).

There's also different manufacturers of these dash mats. Some make it so it just covers the airbag, while others provide cutouts to allow uninhibited airbag deployment.

I personally don't care which one I get (if I actually wanted one). Get hit with a woven piece of nylon or get hit with a thin piece of suede (the one without the cutout design). Either way, it's not going to be fun. That's why I'm just doing an airbag delete.
