Kinda wanted to make something so that I could see the types of wheels you guys are putting in the GC/GF/GM cars so I could get an idea for mine.

Currently I’ve got the 99 Legacy GT wheels which look good but sadly the sidewall makes the car kinda shaky back and forth. I love the look of the stock 6 spoke 2.5RS wheels.

I’ve really been eyeing Sparco Terra’s, the six spoke Enkeis, or Prodrives, but was curious of what some of you guys are running. Preferably 17” wheels.

Wheel specs, tire size, modifications to fit?

Really curious about getting a 245 in there, the aggressive fitment thread has a few but I think the consensus is that 245 is the beginning of "aggressive." Id like to run a 17x8 Enkei TS-5 with a 245 tire.

4th gen Legacy GT wheels are 17x7, +55, and my tires are 205/50R17

No modifications required to fit, but I'm running a skinny tire on purpose. I'm also lowered to approx 13 5/8" from the wheel center to the fender. No rubbing at all.

EDIT: forgot to mention I have GD STi control arms in front and adjustable ones in the rear, so in theory I'm wider than I should be. Still no rubbing 👌

Apologies for the insta screenshot...

OEM 6 spokes, 16x7 +55
General G-Max AS05 225/50-R16
Stock blown suspension, no mods no rubbing

I'll have to report back once I get the car back together with H&R springs, and WRX footprint. Not sure if it's +10mm track width a side or total.

Tires from different manufacturers can vary pretty significantly in terms of width, example:

Tire Rack : Tire Comparisons

The section width is similiar but the track width is almost an inch greater. Fairly certain the section width is off, I ordered a pair of the BF Goodrich's for my old RSX in 225/50r16 and they were much wider than the General's.

Just a friendly PSA.

Found the same thing to be true for OD when I was putting 33's on the wife's 4Runner.

I got my dream wheels (shoutout to Zephyr), here they are laying up against the car. OZ SuperTurismo 17s in factory gold. They used to run them on the WRC tarmac setup. Theyre my favorite all time for the GC.

Those look great. I think lots of spokes look good on these cars. It’s weird how different it is than like, a Bugeye to me lol. One year apart and on
Here's my winter Terras

god yeah those are exactly what I want. I’ve been trying to find some on marketplace but they’re either white (I feel like would clash with my two tone) or they’re out the ass in cost.

Same dude, I love the multispoke look on wagons especially. Eventually I want to get something like your Legacy GT wheels but in a 17 for the same reason you mentioned: sidewall flex. Actually I think the wheels I'm describing are exactly what Memornix posted for his summer setup, I'll have to save up for a set of those someday

"Going to 17's fixed that, I also made sure to get a tire slightly skinnier than what was recommended for the wheel, thinking that a tiny bit of stretch would help to fight sidewall flex even more." -Seabass

Wondering if the issue could be resolved by going to a wider rim on the same tire? It would be awesome if they ran this test on say 16x(7,8,9) and 18x(7,8,9) wheels as well. I remember reading an old tuner mag article that tested the sidewall height on a honda but I can't find it...

edit: 2:13 for the bar graph with results

Im running KYB AGX struts, Eibach P1LL red springs (they're redesigned after the Prodrive P1 reds, to perform better on our shitty US roads), Whiteline front camber adjustable front mounts, and JDM STi rear mounts. Couldn't be happier with the ride height, adjustability, and ride quality. Perfect balance as far as Im concerned.

I feel left out! After test fitting a warranty exchange and kinda liking the look of them, i went ahead and collected a set of four. two or three needed to be repaired in one way or another. Never got around to actually getting tires mounted. If I had kept the car on coil overs I could have ran them, but being on convential there was no way these 18's were working 🤣 They're 2017-2019 Impreza sport wheels.

If I ever get successful enough to be able to afford two sets of tires, I'll probably mount some blizzaks on them to have a winter set for my 3.6R.
