NA RS - right at that 4250 mark before the curve kicks in
using E-Brake and slipage. Drop E-Brake as you WOT and shift because you didn't bog.

 

I feel bad for my poor little stock clutch when I launch. But when I do, its around 4000 or so, then I get to smell a little clutch.

With a 2.5 2002 RS pressure plate, ? year forester flywheel and 6 puck disc, I launch at about 5000 rpm full boost. I would worry if I had sticky tires, but I run RE-92 right now so I just spin the front two and 1 rear! Get consistant 1.8 60' times.

4.5k slipping the clutch slightly. I dont even bother going higher, for the simple fact that i spin all 4 even at that RPM.

 

Tranny still happy after 100's of launches!

If my tires didnt spin, it might be a different story.....

Wheel spin is what saves us all. I don't remember the exact ratio but there is a requesite amount of wheel spin that = the hardest launch. Probably avaliable on some F1 stat article.

 

my rs coupe has an essentially stock ej205, bfg t/a kdws, and a act clutch. what rpm should i be launching at? should i dropped the clutch or feather it?

 

5000 rpms, the first 2 times I went drag racing I launched at 3000 rpms and that led to bad 60 foot times. 5000 rpms at the limit of traction gives me 2.100 second 60 foot My clutch had no problems with this either, I recently replaced my clutch because the pressure plate wore out. The clutch disk looked almost new!
