thanks mike

I am about to put up pictures over turkey break on the wiring.

heli- The obd2 ecu won't run on the obd1 stuff. As you can guess, it is just as picky as the other EJs. That being said, the wiring should only differ in egr/emissions. The mechanics are the same, as are the sensors.
One thing I do not know is if the 02s are the same, or if they sit the same. I threw away that stuff without thinking

I found a complete 92 SVX that i will be picking up to use for my harness donor.

I am currnetly prepping an OBD1 EG33 harness for a swap. The ECU is all labeled and identified but have a few snags regarding some wires coming from the engine harness.

These 6 wires all came from the 4 main engine harness connectors and the VSS and originally went towards the passenger side of the dash. I assume they are either 12v powers, grounds, emmisions or TCU related.
Here is what i have left to identify. (all these wires come from the engine bay connectors, through the bulkhead and originally headed towars the passengers side)

Large Square connector----- 2 heavy gauge wires. Blue and Blue/red

Small Round connector------ 2 small gauge wires. Both Black/White

Large Round Connector------ 2 small gauge wires. Y/B and Y/G

I also have an issue with the VSS. There is no VSS1 identified on the ecu pinout diagram. The connector is receiving 2 wires a Y/R from pin B60-11 (VSS2) and a B/W (power or ground). There are 3 wires coming off the connector that headed to the passengers side of the dash.

VSS connector-------------- 2 small gauge wires. Y/R and R/W. Also 1 shielded grey wire

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian

Ian,
I will not be able to comfortably help you without pictures. You also need to show the exact pin and the exact wire location.
I will gaurantee accuracy then.

Jake,

I will get pics as soon as possible. After re-checking over the diagram I have figured out most of the wires I had left. Except for two.

Connector B6, pins 12 and 13. Its the Large Round Connector at the engine/bulkhead. One wire is Y/B and Y/G. I figure they are oil pressure and water temp for the cluster. But are not on any diagrams I have.

b6 14 appears to be the ecu water sensor, because the cluster sensor does not go to the ecu.
I can't find 13 anywhere, but I am exhausted and have no cognitive ability right now

Very Nice Jake. I can finally just point people to this rather than REgoing through the EG33 stuff.

ok i got one that is bugging me. i got my 98rs with the 94 eg33 with a 96 ecu running it, (i rewired so that it runs off the 96 and i don't have a OBDII codes). it will crank and once in a while back fire intake or exhaust. i have spark, i have fuel, i have "air". i checked my timing 3 times.
the some things bugging me - no starting... - 98rs fuel pump (working) - 98rs MAF (reading) - i check my signals and i am getting them.
what can effect the timing for the no start?

it has ran for a total of 5sec...:)

cam angle sensor or crank sensors.

they are old and always always rip at the connector. You need to replace the wires that are frayed or showing wires.

I'm almost 100% on CAS. It's next to your battery, and is already at a bad angle for flexing

i removed both cam and cranks, and checked them. when i move a magnet over them they create ac voltage (alldata directions). so i think they are good.... i have check all my signals that would be needed to run the car. the ones that make me worried are the ign coil signals. they didn't reach 1v and spec is about 5v....
