I have never tuned a car before but I'm curious about playing around with the Power FC and the Commander. Dan Harman created a map for me on the dyno. It runs great but it's a little gutless on the top end and overall a very conservative tune. I install a meth injection kit and I was going to take it back to Harman Motive to get it retuned to take advantage of it.

But could I tweak the map myself? I'm not looking for teh max pow4r.

Well you can start a few different ways.
You can pull alittle fuel to a safer but higher AFR. Then add alittle timing.
You can up boost 2-4#. Retune AFRs and add alittle timing.

What ever you do go slow with the viable changing. Dont think well 1 was ok 2 was better 10 will be awesome. Bad dont do that.

You can start where ever really. You just have to keep in mind that the meth has to be consistantly injected and controled some how. Do you have a kit or DIY kit with just pressure sensors. The DIY kit is ok but you might want to stage it so as you go up in rpm you kick in a second or third stages.

Well the deal is most engines make best power between 12-13.5 AFR. Every engine is alittle different like 2 valve pushrod or 4 valve DOHC. Things like that. Anyway you are most likely siting lower than that so you dont detonate. Probably 11.5 maybe 11 to 1. When you lean the mix out you make more power because the ratio is closer to optimum.

Now timing is something people go two different ways. You have the one group that likes to run as much boost as possible and adjust timing to not detonate but also make power. Then you have people cut the boost for more timing. I personaly would go for more timing but it depends on how it was tuned. Now one more thing to think about is the leaner you go to stoich(14.7) the less timing you need to make power because it burns faster. So you might find that you dont have to do a thing with the timing and just lean it out some.
