thats why you do big wide wheels and stretch the tire on and tuck tire and let the rim stick out. lol
You are right on the ball. :)

how much room would there be from the strut on a 8.5j +30? enough for strut/spring setup? or would it be advisable to go to 8.0j +25?
According to the calculator. and using my new wheels setup.
With 8.5 +30, you have 11mm more clearance than i do.
with 8.5 +25, you'll 16mm more clearance than i do.
So really you have plenty of Clearance. my strut clearance is surprisingly is a fair gap. You'll be fine with those size wheels for spring/strut combo.

Unfortunately the cops have busted me for having wheels poking out the guard -.- so Project Flaring for me soon :p

gotta think of what offset i want to run..... definately want some 17x9s but i have a full wrx suspension so i have the bumped track width..... 35mm going to be too much on a sedan? i know im going to have to roll and pull.

Depends on tire size. Skinny tires = small pull. Proper 245/255s = large pull + camber to fit. +35 should be fine, as I believe you need +38 to clear the strut (going on what I've read from those who purchased 17x9 +44 CR Kai - they needed spacers).

Exige (white GC8 w/ STi Sport front and green TE37s) has 245s, 17x9 +35, though stock RS rear links. Look at his pull. You could do it differently so there is less lip, but regardless you need to pull a large amount.

Was going to run 235/40/17. Figured camber was neccisary...I think the wrx trailing arms and links bump it out 10mm from stock but I can't remember offhand...that's why im asking

Look at my previous photos. They are 17x8 +35 with a 235/40/17 on stock RS suspension about -2* camber, zero toe. 17x9 +35 will mean the outer edge of the wheel sits 12.7mm further out than mine + 10 mm (assuming this is correct) further out from the longer links.

Since you are using the same tire size (which will stretch now too) and same offset, the centerline of the tire would be in the same position if you still had RS links. Since you have WRX links, the centerline (and therefore outer edge) of the tire will be 10mm further out compared to the tire in my photos.

Any suggestions on XXR 522 or 527 offset for a 1995 GM6? i want the perfectly flush look or the ability to lower the car w/o hella camber! i also want just regular tires none of that stretched stuff.

The max offset they come in +35... On their 17/18x8.25". You are on your own from there.

Just a note if you guys do swap and run gd lateral links and subframes beware that the offset at +45 17x8 with 235/45/17 sticks out about half an in both sides!
