I live in New England and every spring and autumn i always have in the back of my mind, what if it snows while I have my summer tires on! My set of summer tires Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport which will be worn out mid summer have a traction rating A . How would a All Season tire with a higher traction rating of AA like Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position compare with summer tires with A rating? I know there are a lot of other factors that come in play but I am just looking for a general answer if (A) Summer Tires would be similar to (AA) All-season as far as gripping the roads on corners etc.

Summer > All season. Just in general 99% of the time. No two ways about it.
I don't go by temp ratings and even take treadwear ratings with a grain of salt. Go by what actual reviewers on tirerack say... people's written opinions are usually better.
