Zactly, the 'ease' of which power can be produced with an H6 will get easier as more and more people realize there's a reason super cars don't use 4cylinder engines.

So the idea is to get the ez30 ecu working with romraider and then swap it into my car. Does anyone know If the ez30 has a fuel return line or if it needs a special fuel pump controller or w/e. I am not used to these returnless setups

the ez30 ecu will control a fuel pump relay, so dont worry about that.

it has a psuedo returnless system.

most returnless systems still have a return line. its just usually inside of the gas tank.
the ez30 regulator and return line are right before the fuel rail. so its technically a returnless system with an external regulator

Cool that is good to know. In the next few weeks, ill head up to my buddies shop, put this thing on a lift, and get this drivetrain in. After that, I recoup some $$$$$s and start looking for an engine.

So I was looking on the whiteline website and I was surprised how much all these bushings are. Is there anything that you guys would recommend me change out when I do the swap? Not saying that I wont go back and do it, just don't really have $2500 to replace everything with whiteline stuff.

Depending on how much mileage is on the car, just replacing the bushings with new OEM rubber will be a huge improvement over your old and busted ones.

I'm not sure what you're looking at that gets you to $2500. That's a helluva lot of bushings! Whatever you decide to do, shop around with Whiteline, Kartboy, Powerflex, and Turn in Concepts to find the best deals.

My suggestions, in no particular order (if they're available, the numbers refer to Powerflex's diagram, just because it's convenient to look at):

- 6MT tranny mount (Group N)
- Tranny cross-member bushings
- Kartboy shifter bushing combo - pivot bushings and rear stay bushing
- Rear diff mount bushings (#11)
- Rear cross-member outrigger bushings (#8)
- Trailing arm rear bushings (go into rear knuckles) (#6)
- Trailing arm front bushings (go into forward end of trailing arms) (#7)
- Lateral link bushings (#5 & #12)

There are other things you can do (steering rack bushings, front control arm front and rear bushings (#1 and #2)), but you really won't be messing with any of that stuff to install the 6MT, so they can be done any time. Pretty much everyone upgrades to bigger sway bars, and those come with poly bushings, so no point putting poly bushings on the stock bars (if the car even has stock bars still). Same with front and rear sway bar end link bushings - just get upgraded end links rather than wasting effort putting poly bushings into the weakass plastick stock end links.

- The trans mount, trans cross-member bushings, and shifter bushings all make sense to do now since you'll be swapping out all that stuff
- Same goes for the rear diff mount bushings - you'll be swapping diffs, so this is the easiest time to do those
- The trailing arm rear bushings, which go into the knuckles, would be good to do now because you'll be swapping knuckles
- You'll have to unbolt the lateral links to do the knuckles, so might as well do those bushings, too. If you plan to do upgraded lateral links (like the adjustable ones from various manufacturers) then don't bother swapping out the lateral link bushings

That's my 2 cents.

If you can actually get the EZ30R ECU to work with RomRaider, you could probably also adapt a WRX's knock control strategy part of the ROM to the timing if you wanted to go turbo. Unless it's a 32-bit ECU, then I guess you'd need an STi's KC system.

EZ30R already works with rom raider. Problem is, I would like to go ez30D. The ez30D is an earlier version of the engine. It lends its self to rebuild more then the ez30R because it does not have the complex variable valve lift system.

I don't know if the heads are swappable. I also have no desire to deal with AVCS or alternate cam profiles, or anything like that. I want to keep everything as simple as I can. In the future, I want an easy platform for upgrades. I may want to get my cams and buckets nitrided, or I might also want to get some valve springs and retainers. The AVCS would most likely just get in the way.

Well, there ya have it. I understand why the ez30r is capable of more power, but I like the simplicity of the ez30D better. The idea would be to turbo the stock ez30D. I have a bunch of turbo stuff off of my previous project:

-gt3076R with anti surge housing
-tial MV-S waste gate ( I think its a 10 lb spring)
-Tial Q 50mm BOV
-AEM FIC 6

I just want to put it in and leave it at 10lbs and hopefully not blow it up. How much power do you think these engines can take in stock form? If I were to build the engine, who would make rods?

Yea, I agree. I also think it will give the exhaust gas time to normalize before it hits the turbo.

I really want to do this car up. If you want to see what I mean when I say do it up, refer to post #32. I don't play no games. lol
