I'm considering buliding a replica WRC roll cage and I am trying to figure out what diferent kinds of tubing materials are legal to use in constructing such a cage, while remaining legal for SCCA FIA ect...
aswell as if anyone has a diagram and or close up photos of a GC8 coupe WRC cage that would be awesome :D I've looked at the Rally America site and can't get it to load the PDF files any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Start with a rulebook. It will specify material, wall thickness, joint types and anchor point specs.

I don't know them offhand, but I would definately look up the official specs if I were going to have one made.

Thanks guys! I have a friend who bulids custom motorcycle frames and I'm trying to research the material and find a few plans or photos so we can bulid this sucka! I'm hoping to strip the entire car and seam weld at the same time has anyone heard if any aluminum are ok?
Cheers!

Read the links I posted, it says what you are allowed to use. If it isn't listed, then generally you can't use it. :)
Good luck with the seam welding!! Pictures when you get the chassis down to its bare bones!!

If you use drawn over mandrel (needs to be an unalloyed carbon steel containing a maximum of 0.3% of carbon), the cage needs to be:
1.75" dia with a wall thickness of 0.095"

FIA allows CDS as well.

your left kidney. seriously, you're looking at some serious cash. 10th Warrior has had some seam welding and could probably give you a better idea
The labor involved in stripping the whole car down to have it done its just too much time and money for my project. Have you considered just seam welding around the shock towers, etc?
