Removing Clear Coat Carbon Fiber

orange peel on cabon fiber or fiberglass parts is moot..

even if it was sanded flat and buffed slick, the weave of the CF would still shrink and show after a few months..

the resin is constantly moving, just like fiberglass

even after several coats of primer surfacer, wet sanding slick, painting, clearing, wet sanding flat, and buffing, you'd still get the weave shrinking after a while...

---

next time just sand it flat with 800, and clear right over the existing clearcoat. stripping is a waste of time.. it is transparent clearcoat after all...

using solvents on a resin peice is not a good idea.. unless you're looking for a cloudy area, or yellow / white spots.. acetone is about one notch down from paint stripper...

not too freindly to resins
