In need of desperate help. I have a 02 2.5 rs Automatic...I know bad decision. I'm looking to add to my ride. I would like to go with exhaust first. My friend just got the borla cat back for his 02 wrx.. Can I get that for myself, if not any suggestions on what to get. I love the borla sound. Also any other suggestions any one has in general; which CAI, can I add turbo... havn't done anything to it yet, but I'm looking to add as much as I can afford. Right now, I have about 1000$. Think of it as an empty canvas for you to make something of it. Thanks

You need to determine where you want the car to be in a couple years. Are you willing to save $5,000 - $10,000 for a swap (most potential), $2,500-$5,000 for a turbo kit (lots of power but not as much as a swap), or just a few grand for NA mods (not much power for the money)? Will you be buying any suspension mods? Since you have a clean slate it's best to determine your path before you spend money to start down another path. If I had my car again on the first day I bought it I would have bought my current suspension mods first, then saved for my swap and not put a penny into NA mods. Figure out where you want to be and we'll tell you where to go.

I want to go with turbo upgrade..eventually..I don't plan on having this car for very long, but I definetly want a gain in power. Here's what I was planning...Exhaust, CIA, Brakes, rims/tires, then turbo. About the turbo, i was told it would be bad to put turbo with my engine, that it would be too much to handle. If you could recommend something for each, espcially exhaust, CIA, and Turbo that would be great. Thanks for the help

I agree with puck's approach.

You want a turbo upgrade eventually, but dont plan on keepin the car for long? Then why dump so much money into it? With upgrades you never get the $ out that you put into it.

Your sugguested upgrade path suguests a large amount of money put into it. What you have listed can run you easily $3000-4000 before the turbo depending on the parts. If you really want reliable power, save your $ and trade for faster 5 speed car, ie WRX.

But to answer your questions... look up
Exhuast: Stromung, Prodrive, Cobb, Scoobysport, Greddy
CAI:Cobb, Ganzflow, Injen,
Turbo: FAT (Forced Air Tech), AVO

I personally would opt for suspension first..
