So how IS the 4eat holding up to the torque of the EGG? You said you drive hard so I figure if anyone's fried a tranny DD'ing it would be you .

 

Not doing so well. I have to shift it and let off the gas to get into gear smoothly. I had a problem with this tranny from the time i phrchased it though.

 

Your fuel gauge is an issue with the body harness somewhere, mine was a lone ground

 

Body harness from the 99 LGT I am guessing? I have to get that damn thing working.

 

You can ground it at the plugs under the rear seat

 

Ok great. I was thinking i would have to be in the dash. Any idea why my turn signals dont workk? My hazards do.

 

I actually am having an issue with lighting and turn signals. But I never even look let alone touch that section of the harness. And no grounds are integrated with the orignal engine stuff. Bad luck?

 

Not sure brother. I saw that my 99 LGT ecu has wiring that goes to the ecu to control the turn signals. I have been through:banana: the connectors under the dash a buch of times too.

 

I have OBDI and OBDII svx wiring diagrams. I have compared them both page by page, and the only difference I have found so far is the rear o2 sensor. OBDI only has the 2 front 02's, OBDII has an additional 02 sensor. Wire colors are not the same, and pin numbers are different due to another major difference- the ECU plug- going from the 4 separate plugs ( b59, b60, b61 and b62, yellow) to one large 96 pin plug ( b59, dark grey).
I have not been able to find the ecm i/o for the OBDII, but by tracing wires and comparing to an OBDI i/o chart should be pretty easy- doing that now.
I have lots of pdf's for referencing (svx, foz, preza, leggy, sti- various years), if anyone needs anything please post up- don't mind sharing at all. OBD info, canbus info, diagrams, wiring, mechanical etc.

Don't for get the OBD II connector as well. it is different from OBD I to OBDII.

In your oppinion, would using an 01 impreza RS's pin-out work with an 01 legacy L?
Same engine, trans and accessories. I don't see why anything would be different between the two.

The only pin-out I've found was for an 01 RS..

your dealer carries entire books on wiring for your legacy. they are $25

 

DAMNIT :bonk: so much for wiring it up this week .
I've called the local subi dealerships they don't carry those books anymore, they're all on computer now. :bonk:

Not sure if anyone is active still on this thread but i'm wondering about if anyone knows if a 97 OBW will work with a 92 svx ecu. I believe that It should work fine im just wondering if anyone has any info on issues i might run into when wiring.

 

It'll be easier to drop an ez30d in there, fitment wise.

You should find an SVX shell and bring it back to life with that eg33...

Edit: wait, do you wanna run the obw as is with an SVX ecu? The 6 cylinder ecu won't run a four cylinder, at least not without major modifications to the programming.

 

EZ30 is an interference motor...no thanks.

Im moving alone nicely on with this. Hopefully will start hooking things up on my 97 obw within a couple week or so. got the heads at a shop getting a valve regrind and new valve seals installed.

 

Got the car running a couple days ago, just took it for its first test drive last night unfortunately it is very bogged down during acceleration until around 3-4krpm. O2 sensor? Coolant temp? VSS? Timing? The car revs prefect while sitting in netural with the exception of a bit high idle ( not sure on exact rpm because im waiting on my tach output converter)

 

Hello, i hope this thread is still going. I am finishing the install of a 1997 eg3.3 into my 2006 forester, I am having issues with it idling properly. When it starts up it goes into a high idle, like 1500rpm-2200rpm, it idles down some to about 1000-1200rpm but haven't gotten it to idle any lower. I noticed that there was talk about the Vss being hooked up, i haven't hooked this up yet, hopefully today I will. Any help would be greatly apricated! Thanks

 

Vss made a huge difference on my ej22t, I would guess it makes a difference on your build as well. My car would run like it was in limp mode without it.
