DIY: 93-01 Dash Removal

Lots of people have been wanting pictures of all the bolts that need to be removed to get the dash out. I took my dash out yesterday and took a bunch of pics both to help remember where there all go and possibly to make this DIY. Dont forget that i am what you call a noob but im also not afraid to try. The only other car/mechanical experience I have is installing my AGXs. After doing that I have gained a ton of confidence. Things are easier once you start doing it!

Im sure that there are some small differences between the 93 and 01 models but its probably pretty close.

POST #3 FOR 98-01

Disconnnect the battery before begining

Tools:
Sandwich bags
tape
10mm socket
Swivel head for the stupid bolts by thing windshield
Phillips screwdrivers
Someone to help pull the whole thing out

To keep track of all the bolts after removing them i put the in sandwich bags and taped them to the piece they went with. SEE "the shop" picture as an example

Its pretty straight forward, the surprising part for me was all the wiring that had to be unplugged.

Before

First start with the center console following the screws to the front

Ignore the ipod wires

Remove the stereo by unscrewing the for smaller bolts and then just work the whole thing out

Unplug and its free

Remove the Jockybox in two parts
first the two hinge bolts

Then the inside

Should look like this now

Next remove the part under the steering column

Unscrew this

Now you can remove more of the center trim

Remove the trim around the gauge cluster

I would advise taking pictures, especially of the wiring

Pop the vent under the windshield out and begin the painfull process of removing the two bolts. I started with the swivel head and once they were loose enough i finished with a screwdriver... try not to drop the bolts down the vent. I did and almost cried but I found it later once everything was out.

Now for the main stuff
The dash beam is now visible, and its really the only thing holding it in now, besides wiring

from the passenger side lay down look for all the points that the dash attaches to the beam and start unscrewing...

Of these three bolts only the top one needs to be removed.

Theres a small screw on each side that are impossible to get out so the silver metal piece has to come out with the dash.. more pics later with explain

Pop this blue thing out

Most of these need to be unplugged

Along with this

Now im sure i missed a bolt or two or three but once you get rolling you'll be able to figure it out...

To remove the dash you have to start wiggling it out... someone to help makes this way easier.
