So i got my transmission rebuilt because my 2nd and 3rd gear were chipped and i also installed an exedy stage 1 clutch. So yesterday i put everything back together lowered the car turned it on and it was fine. I take for a test drive and everything is going fine until i go to shift to 3rd gear, it won't go in it jumps back into neutral. So i tried again and it jumped back into neutral and i tried to keep in in gear but i heard a grind so i let go immediately. Does anyone know what is causing 3rd gear not to go in?

well it goes in a bit it doesn't go in fully, but it pops out

yes it has oil but not sure exactly which one i wasn't around when they put the oil in i think it was some cheap oil, does it have to be a certain one?

and yea it is popping out, i think i'll check that.

I dunno what there is to "adjust" on the forks.....they are cast with a particular offset and drilled for the spring pin in a certain spot, then stamped with a code for it.

With the OP describing "rebuilt", I feel alot of info has been left out. Rebuilt with what? New parts, used, if used, from what?

Having gone through the ordeal of getting the correct gears and syncros, I would guess you have incompatable parts in there. Syncro not compatable with gear. 3 and 4 are 1 pc. while 2nd is part of the mainshaft, so this was an extensive repair. Alot of little extra parts need to be replaced with Subaru's constant superceding of part numbers and the old stuff not working with new stuff.
