I've completed the Supercharger Project. If you read through this thread you'll see some of my updates. I wasn't very detailed or regular in updating. If you have any questions about the project please feel free to message me. Current crank pulley size is 9.1" with the original 100mm m62 pulley yielding 8 -10 lbs of boost. The supercharger came from a Mercedes c230.

Expenses:
Supercharger $300
Intercooler + piping: $220
Custom Crank Pulley $150
Deatschwerks 600cc Fuel Injectors $299
Misc. Bits/Couplers $200
BPV $30
Bearing $37

Total so far: $1236

I've changed the setup and am now running 2 throttle bodies to make the car quieter and more drivable. 6/9/2015 (video coming soon)

They aren't actually that easy to find...I searched and searched for it for about a month before one popped up on craigslist. I drove about 4 hours to get it and then 4 hours back. I'm sure they're still a lot easier to find here than they are over there.

thanks man! It is pretty clean; hopefully this bad bearing isn't the start of a lie. I was told that it was fully rebuilt with 0 miles on it, but the bearing shows otherwise.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Randall about the pulley. Did you have him only make you one pulley?

So what are you planning to do for your EM? I'm really curious about this because I think you are the first person to try this on an '05 and I would love to try it.

If I still lived in Rolla, I'd offer to drive over and give you a hand

I'm doing open source tuning. I'm sure it'll take me awhile to get a good tune, but I've gotten pretty good with using romraider and my vagcom cable.

When I go home on leave from here I may travel through TN instead of up north through indiana and illinois...once I get it done maybe I can stop by and take you for a ride.

That would be awesome...

So as far as the design goes, are you going to relocate the throttle body to before the supercharger and then come up with some kind of clever piping for the MAF sensor or are you going to leave it in place and just wear earplugs?

I'm leaving the stock TB where it is. What I'm going to "try" to do is add a second TB before the supercharger. This should be easy to do because my 05rs is DBW. We'll see how it plays out.

I'm MAF based. The sensor will have to go in front of both TBs.

I won't have to worry about any silicon elbows collapsing on me with this setup either. Another thing, I'm pretty sure I can still use a turbo style BPV rather than a CBV with this setup.

I haven't moved it yet, but I don't think there will be any issues with the pickup. I plan on moving it back to the firewall on the passenger side. If you look under the hood you can see that you "most likely" wont have to extend the pickup hose only the return hose.

OK, in case you're curious, I moved the reservoir to near the firewall via an aluminum bracket bolted to the strut tower. Works like a charm... well, now that I put the correct fluid in it...

Also, I'm using a mounting method very similar but not identical to Skidd's. I had to relocate the ABS pump 2.5" or so closer to the fender.

To make some more room for the FMIC piping, I relocated the battery to the trunk (optional) and installed a pep boys coolant reservoir (a must).

Now I'm just waiting on the pulley before I can keep going :letitout:

A heads up on this build. I ended up spinning a bearing and am currently in the process of rebuilding the motor. Got it all torn down and waiting for rod bearings to ship so I can start the rebuild.

You can follow the rest of the motor build in my journal. Once I finish the motor build I'll be back to the supercharger build.

The motor build consists of all forged internals and a CR of 9:1. Looking to max out the m62.

I'm still in the middle of my motor rebuild, but here are pictures of my supercharger parts. All I need now is an inlet and outlet connecting the supercharger.

I also need the 4 little screws that hold the magnetic clutch to the supercharger. Anyone know where I can get them at? I really don't wanna carry my supercharger around in lowes looking for something that might fit.

By 4 little screws, do you mean the 4 that hold the magnet to the supercharger body?
because there is nothing special about them.. just 4 typical metric screws.
I don't have the specs in front of me though. Sorry. Plus, I doubt Lowes will have them... Unless the Lowes where you live is better, ours don't carry much in the way of Metric bits. Lucky for me, there is a fasteners shop close by. Perhaps there is a Fastenal store near your house.

P.S. Good looking brackers!! Your designer should be commended!! ;)
