There are two I pass on the way to work every day, and I try to wave, but I don't think they understand the cult following around Subies

Found this snippet in another thread, and thought it would make a fun thread of it's own. So let's see what the rest of you have encountered. Whenever I see a Subie I try to make eye contact first and see if they *want* to wave... or if they even know what they and I are driving. But sometimes... (and I've never had this happen with a fellow RS owner. )you just can tell when NOT to wave.

I wave at all of them! And I have been accused by some of our local memebers of stalking, because I usually chase the RS, SVX, GT owners (or anyone else that looks like they might be enthusists) down and talk to them! :lol: :lol:

i got snubbed the other week by an older guy driving a blue RS...i asw him pull up to an intersection as i was getting ready to turn so i flashed my lights and as i went thru the turn i waved but he never even skipped a beat. dunno if he was day dreaming or just not interested but it was kinda like...WTF?? since when do RS people NOT wave at each other? been snubbed by about 10 WRX's so far, but then again in this area there are alotta cars to be sold. in any case i try to honk, wave, and flash my lights at anyone i see.

But.. sometimes it's not really "TRYING to race" Today on the way home, I came to a stoplight just before the road bottled down from 2 lanes to 1 each direction, and a little Saturn pulled up beside me. When the light turned green, he TRIED to race me.. but I didn't TRY to race him... I just eased* it through 1st gear and halfway through 2nd.. then when I was suitably in front of him, eased off and drove normally.

* eased - v 1. 3500rpm clutch slip followed by full throttle acceleration to 6500rpms



Let's see though.. when not to wave. When the purple neon/blacklight inside the cabin and under the car damn near blinds you :curse: I saw a GC8 Impreza with that.. and it almost made me cry

Naw this punk lauched his WRX off the line... almost blew through a red light just to race... the kid couldn't have been more than 20...(I shouldn't say kid, I'm a kid...18 )

I don't even bother tring to wave to WRX drivers any more! i've had the - well now i feel dumb feeling to much. I wave and they just stare like i'm some fool. I've only had one RS owner not wave!

You know not to wave when when there in a WRX.
not saying there all bad but so far i'm not having any luck.

heh... Man, I really don't wave untill I look over and make eye contact or something. Especially if it's a WRX. I've waved at too many and gotten the "look". I do honk at just about all Subaru's tho. That's easier...cause I'm usually going faster than them, so just a friendly honk on the way by.
