I thought I would finally post up some pictures of my new subaru. It's a 2002 WRX sport wagon. I picked it up from a CT subaru dealer the end of September. It was bone stock with 43,850 miles on her when i drove it home.

After my RS was totalled in June I was stuck driving my old 2001 exploder sport, until i found the wrx and traded it in. It took me 3 months to find one that was clean, and low miles and I got a killer deal on it.

Pictures from today:

A few shots of the RS in its glory:
I just realized how old these pictures are.. I don't even have any from when it had a v6 grill, green i badge, yellow hella fogs and a debadged trunk.

Pics of the RS post accident:

More about the wagon.
Other than a few minor paint flaws, this car is in mint condition. Clean carfax, service records, bone stock, I even found an original 2002 impreza wrx sales brochure in the spare tire area, sitting in the foam piece above the spare.

I searched all over to find this car. I mean I looked EVERYWHERE. Carfax in invaluble, its worth the $30 for a month to know what your looking at when you go car shopping.

I found out its very hard to find a wrx that isn't beat to hell, high mileage, overpriced, salvage titled, or badly modded. I saw one with the downpipe welded to the midpipe part of the catback, ugliest looking TBE I ever saw.

Then I found this car. It was everything I was looking for. It even had lower mileage than I was looking for.
I didn't care whether it was a sedan or wagon, I just needed to get another Subaru. I miss the RS but I was planning on upgrading to a newer wrx anyway. I was just kinda forced into it sooner than I planned.

That can be fixed right? (the rear quarter panels)?
I was stopped at an intersection waiting to make a left turn. The kid that hit me was probably going 30-40 when he slammed on his brakes before he hit my car. There was A LOT of frame damage underneath the car. The metal in the trunk area looked like this VVVVVV. The insurance adjuster said the cost of the damage was close to what the car was worth. So it got totalled.

i would say that's either a public high school or a prison, somewhere in new haven, connecticut.
Close.. but not quite. I think its a middle school, and its in hamden, ct but it is very close to new haven. Its actually right around the corner from this little lake where i go mountian biking, otherwise I probably wouldn't know it existed.

Hmm.. I don't think I've ever been through Hamden. It just looks so familiar though... weird.

Sweet wagon, I love Bugeyes.
A rack delete really cleans up the exterior of those wagons. That and it looks like the person who put the tires on it didn't have performance in mind when they picked them out.

Thanks. The crossbars were the first thing to come off. Your right about the tires, definitely not performance in mind with those.

I installed the B&M short shifter today. What a pain in the ass to put in. But what a huge difference. The stock shift throw is long and it felt really vague, worse feel than the shifter on my RS. This is short and precise, I like it so far. The bonus is it came with front and rear shifter bushings, which I haven't got the chance to install yet because it got dark, fucking daylight savings time.

The shifter itself looks very solid. It has roller bearings instead of bushings, which means less shifter slop. I will probably wait til next week to install the shifter bushings it came with, I want to see how it is by itself first.
Shifter is short throw only, its not really any shorter than stock height, which is what i wanted.
