I am attracting the wrong age group here... :chomp: First when my 55 year old aunt saw it, she wanted one... now the old... and i mean, old as in retired, lady across the street just hassled me as I parked. Wanting to know what year it was, how much it was, and if I wanted to trade for her Chevy Celebrity wagon...

The old ladies like their husbands to take Viagra, it's got nothing to do with sex, it just keeps them from rolling out of bed is all :p

Sorry the thread has gone all to hell hasn't it...

Just because they're old doesn't mean they don't know a cool car when they see one. Just think, some of these oldsters grew up in the original hot-rod era, and have had to endure all the horrible crap that GM, Ford, and especially Chrysler/Dodge put out in the 70's and 80's. Then they see the RS, and remember the good old days, and how Subaru did what AMG did with the AMX-big engine in a little body. They just know quality when they see it (not that AMG was quality, but you know what I mean!)

Hey my dad's old and he's got a complete 521ci Ford motor in his garage. Sometimes old people are cool.

I HOPE you meant AM"C" and not AM"G". :biggest:

AMG is damn near the definition of quality. Scary that both AMC and AMG are somewhat distanly related now that DaimlerChrysler is here!

BTW, recently saw a 66Charger with a big ol' Benz badge on the front. It actually looked good.

Very true, I didn't think of that. In fact I have had several complete strangers, older men, complement the color (BRP)... saying, "I haven't seen that color since the 50's."

And I didn't mean that old people aren't cool:cool:... I just wish I was getting hasled by hot 20 somethings as well. :)

Damn this thread is old, how did I get here?

That's what I was wondering. It's been 3.5 years since the last post (mine!), how did you even find this? Actually, this thread has been on this forum longer than you have!

That statement could offend a lot of musclecar guys. AMC did back in the 60's what Subaru has been doing for the last 10 years...putting hot engines in cars with quirky styling and dynamics. Worked in the 60's, works in 2006. And you'd be hard-pressed to fine a big-block Javelin owner who'd trade his car straight up for a brand new STi.

I know, that's why I compared AMC to Subaru in the first place. I know not all thier cars are crappy, but a lot of them have a little wierd in them. Like the Eagle 4WD sation wagon, or the Pacer. Javelins and AMX's are pretty cool, though. No offence intended there.

I personally am a fan of AMC's. Don't know them particularly well, but like the quirky styling. You can pick them out of a lineup of 60's muscle cars from the Big 3 that all looked very similar.
