I don't want to upgrade the rotors/pads yet, I just want to replace my worn down pads, and I've heard that you can mess up your OEM rotors if you don't use the correct pad. And Im assuming that an OEM wouln't wouldn't use a full metallic pad, which leaves me with organic or semi-metallic. I could just go to the dealership, but they'd probably charge a fortune for replacement pads.

OEM are organic pads. Cobb sells pretty good pads, ive got em on the fronts for my 98. the ones cobb sells are semi metallic, and require not heating up so they work just like stock, but with better breaking power and they last longer. If you want cheap, just go to pep boys and get some cheapo Raysbestos pads

Great, thats all I needed to know. I don't think I wanna go with the Raybestos, I'm not *that* cheap.:) I'll probably try to find some good semi-metallics this weekend. Thanks.

Actually, most Raybestos pads are VERY high quality, they make linings for a lot of the OEM's.

Well then, I stand corrected.:) I was always under the impression that raybestos was to be categorized with other Pep-Boys favorites like their excellent tools, Fram filters, and replacement parts that don't *quite* fit. Ah well.

I think that there are probably a lot of better brands - as far as high performance stuff goes. But for regular duty (or heavy duty) I think Raybestos is pretty good stuff.
