I know people used a bunch of different stuff to re-seal their tailights after they put them on. I need something that won't leak, etc, etc. and where I can pick it up.

I got mine from my friendly Subaru mech,,they had the stuff layin around the shop.It comes on rolls, kinda like a black greasy clay.I wouldnt think it would cost too much if ya had to buy it.Lotta guys used silicone caulk,,would probably work just as well.Make sure ya seal the top parts extra good,,ive heard the storys about flooded trunks.

Well my dealer = dicks. I asked them if they had any laying around in the parts department, they said "No, we just use Silicone to seal the taillights" thanks you DICKS

I'll probably wind up picking up something by 3M, like the Strip-Caulk, or something called Windo-Weld (i forget exactly, if garface comes in here, he can tell me again, I forgot what it was...)

2Point5RS, have you used the stuff? How is it holding up?

The 3M Windo-Weld is what I used. It's made to seal windows from water, after all, and I've never had a leakage problem into the trunk. A hair dryer or heat gun will make the whole job a lot easier, too.

3m Stripcaulk, hell if you were in the area i'd nab some for ya. You can get it from carquest, it comes in a small box. It's also reffered to as dum-dum sometimes.

Don't touch it any more than you have to, especially if you have warmed it up, and don't get it on your clothes!
Yep! And (in my experience at least) any you get on your skin has to wear off! (Latex gloves protect your hands from it but then you have to fight the fingers trying to stick together... )

I used some black silicone sealant stuff that I bought from an auto parts store. All thsoe suggestions for window sealant are fine too. Removing the tailights is a bitch and a half and usually it helps to have a 2nd pair of hands to help pry them out

I put mine is just this past weekend. Went to auto parts store, brought the black silicone to one of the doods and asked.. they said.. get clear instead. I used the whole tube to splak on quite a bit of that stuff. Trunk wreaks... but no water.

Heat gun and Rubber mallet to "influence the lights". And have some newspaper to catch the stock gunk and prevent it from falling on your bumper. GAK

Well I put my red/clears in about an hour and half ago. I used 3M's Windo-Weld. Sticky is definately a good word for that stuff. I put it all along where it was suppose to go, hopefully it holds up :D

Randy, I did get the taillights from you guys, thanks again. I'm not taking pictures(because I can't :D) until I get my V5 lip, grill, and my 22B vents on(hopefully before March), but when I do, I'm taking pictures ;) The lights look damn sexy on a debadged SRP :D
