i need to tape some wires on the outside of the car. what kind of tape should i use? need to remove easily, but will hold fairly strong and won't damage the paint. is masking tape the way to go?

Yes, that is true. The only caveat with 3M 256 tape is it's only "designed" to work in an outdoor environment for five days. Whereas the 3M 2080 blue tape is good for up to two months. So, I guess it depends on how long JZ plans on driving around with tape on the car.

the green tape can be wetted, sit in the sun, baked at 175 degrees in the booth, covered with several layers of paint, and sill not separate from it's adhesive.

it also has a relase agent in it so that it won't just become a crusty shitty mess when you try to remove it.
