Same here.. my car is not on the bricks, but it is outside, and slowly getting molded. I wash it twice a year, but paint is beginning to peel and neighbors tree started growing out of fender lining.

It needs a complete engine overhaul. There is some kind of exhaust leak that's making it's way into the cabin. BUT I beat on it all day on a track last summer, and it took it like a champ. Not even a CEL.

No idea what to do with it, but I can't bring my self to sell it. $8k on a good day - whoopty doo.

In the mean time, I got an 2006 M3 convertible with 20k miles and it's my daily

Hobbie-wise, with wife and kids, I find that having no more than 2 active hobbies works well.. otherwise nothing ever gets finished. So, Subaru's time will come.

I'm in and out, alot of the I formation is super useful still. I still have my 99 impreza l and buy parts here and there to keep it all in one piece and road ready. I plan on eventually swapping g a wrx motor I to it and giving to my son for his first car. As it was my first car.

I joined this forum back in high school almost 14 years ago now. I've always been a lurker as I never actually owned one. I've had subarus, and I've driven and worked on all kinds of subarus, but still never have posted much. I vaguely remember what the forum looked like previously which probably helps in me not having much to compare things to. Until recently, I've probably logged onto the forums about 10 times in the past 7-8 years. I had actually given up on the built GC dream... school then work life balance left little time for much else, and that limited time always had to be prioritized. Plus as said above, these things are becoming so much harder to find, and anything that I would find for sale was usually always snatched up.

Happy to say that the dream has been revitalized, and though it's still hard to believe, after 14 plus years I finally got myself a little 2.2 coupe (picked it up yesterday). I've always found the forums very resourceful, and can usually find the answer i'm looking for. If I don't find it it's usually because I am not asking the question right haha. I'm thankful that the forums are still here, even if they might not be as lively.

I hear ya. I've finally got the money to start my project basically during covid. I've been wanting a swapped GC since about 2001 and now I've finally got one built 20+ years later. Its with Area 1320 getting a new shortblock. The number of 10 year old threads I've revived is a little embarrassing.
