i just bought a 03 rs:burnout: it is my third subaru but my first NA and it has a blown engine im trying to find out what engines i can put in it

i believe the current one is a ej251

so my two questions are

1.will an ej202 fit straight in with no modification?

2.can someone please give me a list of all the engines that will fit, with no problems.

thank you

Drop in with no work done whatsoever?

EJ251. And possibly a 253.

No such thing to my knowledge as a EJ202. Theres the EJ205/US EJ207/Japan

If you were meaning a EJ22 im sure they can go in with minimal amounts of work.

Sorry for the bump, but this thread was one of the first to pop up when trying to research an EJ202 swap.

The EJ202 is a non-turbo SOHC JDM engine.
They can be found fairly cheap with low miles, which is why the swap is attractive.
I have not found too much in terms of people who have done the swap, at this point anyways.

Subaru made a lot of weird engines for the world market. EJ15, EJ16, EJ18, EJ20, EJ22, and EJ25. There's the older EA series. Think someone stuffed an EA82 into an Impreza before. Putting that engine in is definitely not going to be a drop in affair.

Also I have no idea what engine was in those cars. I keep seeing EJ251 and EJ253. Lots of conflicting information out there.

The EJ251 and EJ253 are like the EJ222 and EJ223, if im not mistaken.
The 222 and 223 are the same engine, but the 222 has a MAP sensor while the 223 has a MAF sensor; while the 251 has the MAP and the 253 has the MAF.

As far as the EJ202 swap, its hard to say how it is. Theres not much information available on it. Im pretty interested in giving it a shot, once the time is right.
