Does anybody know where I can find a set of the elusive $70 a piece STI V5 struts? Steve d??? I'm looking to buy a set soon after X-mas, along with a FHI 20mm bar, and maybe a pink "i" emblem (I'm tire of painting my ghetto one).

how does the AGX full stiff compare to the ver5's?

I have driven my car with Version 5 and I have ridden in pleiades' car with his AGXs. he had his set on 3 front and 8 rear, and my car was slightly stiffer. I would say that Version 5s are about even with AGX set at full stiff. But I think I would rather have the AGXs for the adjustability if I had it to do over again.

I ordered them a while ago, got the money to them Friday, and they showed up on my step today. $75 a piece for the struts.

They've got these and they've got adjustable ones for twice as much. I've been told that the V5 struts are the same as the P1 and a KYB non-adjustable. I'd bet the new SPT/STi ones are KYB AGX, or something darned similar.

good thing you ordered those a while ago because you are going to be rapped now...everywhere now has almost doubled the price of those struts...including www.wsubarupars.com..
the price is now...$299.95 for (2) grand total is 599.90 not including shipping? i don't think so
exeter subaru also has them but i haven't called for a price because they also changed thier price...from $292 for (4) to Call and we all know that when it says call it means EXPENSIVE....
BUT i am still looking too.....

I started my order Nov 14th. It took me 1 month to get the MBNA coupons to him, then to get the check for the balance over there.

I'm really glad I bought when I did. I'll email and see why the price doubled.

I got a response from subaruparts.com

I asked if it was due to low stock: Nope, in fact SOA has apparently upped their supply

I asked if it was to try and get people to buy the KYB adjustables: Two things... the SPT ones are KYB (confirmed) and No, SOA just wants to charge more.

Scott sent an email off to SOA asking about it, we'll see if they let him know.

wow i guess it is all about timing. cant believe that proces are going up that much that quickly, glad i got me P1 kit when i did. ver 5 struts with prodrive springs (made by eibach). good job to everyone who got theres before the price hike began and for those who havet.........tough luck. : ) jk

We're not staying away from the STi stuff yet, we just haven't hooked up with the right vendor.

We're hoping to carry STi stuff in the future, but right now we're concentrating on trying to get a dyno.
