I've seen a couple of boost controllers where you can control the boost across the rev range...
Is this a good idea on Impreza ? maybe to protect Tranny or Pistons getting too much of a workout ?

What would be a good boost curve ? where would be best to add more or less boost through the rev range ?
thanks

The Apex AVC-R does something of this nature. You can set it to say, full boost by redline, or full boost by 4000 and then taper 3 or so psi. It really is good for those of us who worry about clutch and tranny issues. If your car makes gobs of torque down low (like mine), pulling some boost down low might aid in keeping the tranny in line. Or, in other instances where you don't want very much stress on the tranny during shifts, you can find your shift points and match boost to drop off there, so there isn't as much strain on the tranny.
