Something is wrong.

From what I know V4 and V5 should have two different connectors, can you re-word the title of the thread?

V4/V5 have completely different connectors. You most likely hooked it up wrong. Be more specific your doing us car to JDM cluster. What car do you have?

Actually this is an 280 km/h - 10000 RPM STI V5 Cluster swap to a MY98 car. I have donor MY99 car and I have already cut the 3 three green connectors and rewired everything. It works except the Speedometer and Water Temp.

Water temp gauge rises to the top and the speedometer is not moving. I'm gonna upgrade to an MY99 electrical Vehicle Speed Sensor and I believe it will solve the problem. I cant change the coolant sensor because the ecu will retard the ignition but I may put a secondary MY99 coolant sensor.

Any inputs will be appriciated.

Tomorrow I'm gonna change the VSS. I believe 92-97 has different VSS sensor and MY98 has different VSS sensor(2 socket).

You are correct in thinking that the 99 uses a different VSS then the 98.

AFAIK, 98 has also different VSS then the MY97.. I believe MY98 has two pins.

Also I've never seen a speedo that's in the center that goes to 260 like the one that you just took out of your car.

Thanks! This is euro spec EJ20K and comes with 260/8000. The speedometer on that was broken so I had installed STI Cluster. It was not that hard if you decide to install it.

I have a V5 cluster in my 99, i love it i just need to get the converter to make it MPH.

but the V5 should be easier to install in a 99 than converting the entire harness from the white version 4 plugs to the green version 5 plugs right?

im trying to put a cluster from a 2000 into my 98 that didnt come with a tach.

i got the 3wire VSS from a 00 RS im in the process of wiring it up.

Congrats man, you sure thats a euro-spec.

I have the P1 cluster and the mph gauge is in the center and the tach is on the right handside. Regardless, Congrats on getting it working.

its in KPH not MPH BTW
