Well I have a leaky axle seal on my V2 mechanical rear diff. I'm wondering what axle seal do I have to get to replace it? Is it the same as the stock VLSD in my 2000?

I need to know ASAP. Thanks.

Well....what I think... it is a R160. It would use the same axle seal IMO. And axle seal for a '00 Impreza L would be the same as an axle seal on a '00 Impreza RS. A VLSD doesn't make it any different on the seal.

I had to use different axles for this diff though.

Yes you had to use different axles, but your rear R160 axle stubs are not as THICK as my R180 STi axles. The lengths are different yes, but the thickness IMO may not be at all. I MAY be wrong becaus I don't have a JDM R160 LSD axle, but that's just what "I think."

I think it's the same seal. the axle stubs are just longer on the M lsd
