I recall long ago someone showed that the JDM Imprezas that had 16" tires did not come in 205/55/16 like in USA but of another spec.

Can someone verify this?

example? 205/50/16? or 205/45/16?

I think the book I have at home lists the OEM tires size for the JDM cars with 16" wheels. I'll take a look and report what I find.

maybe its because in japan they are Sti's and wrx's and the suspension that come stock on those vehicles sit lower then ours

Most came with 205/50/16.

^^ Yep. Checked the book I have, 205/50-16 is the common size.

It also says 205/50/16 in the best motoring shows there they take two GC8's for laps.

I run 205/50-16 for winter, these days. It's a pretty decent reduction in sidewall height.
