I did a thing. Found this mildly rusty 95 2.2 awd fully loaded, light in trunk and all, one owner with a super straight body, auto & 230k on the clock for $1350.
I got new bumpers & aluminum hood for the red build stay tuned.. thus.
all the extra body parts are going on this green boi. Tomorrow towing it to a friend that does body work at his own little shop. Quick respray, rust fix, face lift, and some maintenance and maybe I’ll sell her, or store her. Hm.
Interesting, the Rcm pickup is braced on the opposite side.
Also the manifold came w a bunch of heat “wrap” so covered all the coolent lines.. bc N O W A Y can I run an oil cooler sandwich plate. Maybe external oil filter adapter. Idk I’ll see what the temps are after it’s running.
So I’ve been pretty busy and stuff, but filled my time at my home garage to learn to weld. Gonna stitch the gc8 myself coz my welder friends are too busy and my cars in the middle of no where.
Been practice on 22 gauge and 18 gauge. Some of these here suck but I more or less got the hang of it. Went through 2 sheets of this 22 gauge and first time in 18. It’s soooo much easier on the thicker stuff. That said,
You guys know more or less the gauge of most floor, wheel well, and frame metal? I think maybe the floor could be 20-18.. but engine bay 18 and frame 16? Regardless it’s gonna be hell of a learning experience.. well this whole build has been.
Found bits of a race car’s carbon parts after a crash. Mocked up a front wide fender vent & rear side skirt attachments... front would require to bolt “carbon fender vent” to my fender brace, notch it a bit, and cut fender in half and use only top part of steel fender. Rear too.. see pics.. should I waste my time?
