First, is anyone interested in turbo kits (still)? I am thinking of putting together something that is either a Legacy kit, or one that uses stock RS headers. An entry level kit but includes an intercooler, and basic electronics. Price range - what, $2000 - $3000?

Second, is anyone interested in fender flares? I am so tired of not being able to get wide tires under there, and $2500 for Stever's kit is WAY out of my price range. (Not to mention the cost for body work to install the rear clips.) I am thinking of a limited production run of 25-50 high-impact plastic flares (like you see on pickup trucks) that are especially molded for the RS. Not just cheesy flares, mind you, but something that actually looks like it belongs on the car, like you see on some of the Impreza's racing in Japan and whatnot. I figure you'd cut 1" - 3" off of your existing fender, drill some holes, and bolt these on. Paintable and flexible, I think they would last a long time and resist damage. I imagine they should cost aroun $500 to $750 for the whole set.

Gimme your feedback folks....

Count me in on the fender flares James,,if we could get somethin that doesnt require cuttin the fenders would even be better.Kinda like the TRD kits fr the trucks, but paintable and flexible.

I'm thinking you'd have to cut the fenders to allow wheel travel without hitting the factory fenders. Especially if you're lowered in any way. But there could be an option for leaving the factory fenders, but you'd better be running a tall and stiff suspension... you know?

Feedback?

I have always thought flares looked good on the GC's I saw with them, but cutting the fenders does make me a little nervous. I may still be interest, but I would really need to see a set on a car first.

I think the fender flares sound like a good idea, and at a very reasonable price I may add. Like Templar said, the idea of cutting the flares makes me a little nervous, but if the finished product looks good, then im good for it so count me in. Were talking both front and rear flares right?

Fender flares would be the whole set - none of this half-ass stuff people sell. :curse:

I'll have to see if it can be done and what it would cost to set it up. I'll research it more and let you know more.

I've been looking into the trubo kit and will have more details later as well.
