Interior noise symptoms:
On cold Wisconsin days, when the car is started, and not warmed up for an extended period (over 5-10 minutes), it will emit a noise from the dashboard (upper driverside dashboard above guage cluster or coming within from guages).
The noise is a whining sound that is:
-speed sensitive (the faster I go, the faster and louder and higher pitch the whine)
-cold weather only/till the car warms up thoroughly
-not effected by heater/climate controls
-will go away after about a minute of highway driving, or 4 or 5 minutes of city driving.
-not come back until cold start again
This is the most annoying whine one could only imagine. The sound is revolting and loud.
I have a gut feeling it has something to with the heater?? Perhaps not.
Any suggestions? This Subie is hi mileage!
Appreciated!
