These are interference engines so if the belt broke while driving you very likely bent the valves. Do a compression test.

$900 jdm two liter on ebay. Swap the cam gears, and knock sensor. Use original intake and exhaust manifolds, profit!

The 2.0 is a little down on power from the 2.5, but it is the cheapest way to get it back on the road.
