Hi no subi tech just a boy with a car

timing belt snapped in my auto 2004 2.5 Subaru Impreza got new belt on but no start just crank
Read on these forums that it could be the crank or camshaft sensor replaced those and still only crank
No codes are being thrown
Thanks pics for timing reference

Is there timing marks on the belt? Did you line those up to the timing marks? Possible bent valves if the belt snapped while driving. You will need to do a compression test once you check timing is correct and still won’t start.

Well unfortunately she’s doomed absolutely no compression from cylinder 2 or 4 so she’s dead. Unfortunately I have to many projects to work on this so she’s gotta go

$900 jdm two liter on ebay. Swap the cam gears, and knock sensor. Use original intake and exhaust manifolds, profit!

The 2.0 is a little down on power from the 2.5, but it is the cheapest way to get it back on the road.

It's not a hard sell when you need your car up and running on the cheap cheap. $900 is a steal compared to whatever it is to get your head gaskets replaced.
