Bankheist,
It's not the server, it's the internet connection. My server barely gets over a 5% load, and I can upload files at about 1/2 the speed of a T1. Not to mention, the typical 1000 visitors I get per day is nothing, considering there are only about 20-60 people online at any given time.
However, AT&T is having some serious issues with their connection. I've been plotting my connection and measuring thoroughput, lag, latency, dropped packets, etc., and have found that a good 10% of the time I am "offline". Completely frickin' dead! When I go through my logs, about once every 3-5 minutes I simply can't connect to anything, and no one can connect inbound either. Kind of like some sort of a "storm" is going on and everyone gets blocked.
Since I have been capturing data for the past week, and it's incredible how poor the connection is, I'm going to call the AT&T techs this weekend to see what can be done.
Hopefully I can get put on some other network or something because realistically my server is fast enough to handle 10 times the load it's getting now.
So, yeah, for a one man show I am doing pretty good. It's AT&T with all their ten bazillion employees that need to shape up!
