Think I just did something no other import has done:

Got tired of nobody being able to hear my horn when I honked at the, since that snail horn keeps filling up with sand and little rocks. You could barely hear the thing! And everybody has air-horns on thier Subaru. So I went and did something I've never seen done on an import before - an Ooga horn!:D Loud as all get out, and shouldn't fill up up with dirt like the other one did! Can't wait for someone to cut me off again! I had to make a bracket system for it on the passenger side; not really pretty, but it hold the thing in there nice and sturdy. Here's some pics:

As you can see, had to make something that would clear the intake, be sturdy enough to hang the horn from, and wouln't hit the hood. Took some looking, cutting, and drilling, but I did it!

Here you can see how I tried to aim it; between the radiator and around the headlight:

And here a pic so you can see the overall effect of that big chrome horn under the hood:D

oh man, i was way wrong. i was thinking from the title you had the first SVT subaru :D
Fooled you! Had to make a title that would catch people's attention:D
That's quite a nice piece of work you've done there. Impressive.

When I can. I can record it on my laptop, but it's network card is on the fritz, and I don't have a floppy for it, so I have no way of getting the sound from the laptop to the desktop. Unless I can use the headphone out one the laptop to the mic in on the desktop.... I'll give that a try when tomorrow if it's not raining.
sounds like?

is ooga the brand? or does it make the noise, "AHHUOOOOOGA!"? :)
It's the sound, like the old Ford Model T's make. I'll try to get a clip recorded for ya'll.
I looked at the pic before reading what it was, and my first thought was WTF?! At first it looked like an exhaust tip! Then I read what it is and it doesn't look bad! I also have air horns, and I wanted to mount them like you have yours, but I was worried about them being too close to the engine. I guess that may change once I get my intake on and get rid of the airbox. A soundclip would be interesting! :D
That's excellent. On my old CBR 600 F2, I installed a horn from the junkyard that came out of a GMC truck. Nothin like seeing someone who was not paying attention pull over after I'd blast them on the road. They will get the hell out of the way, quick.

Do you want a 3C589D Etherlink III card? I've got quite a few here. You'd need to get a dongle, but otherwise they're most likely good. :) I've never used them.
Wanna see my DONGLE? I've got one, you know. Wanna see? You can have it.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass. I've finally got some income coming in, since I'm working again, so I'm going to get a card that uses the empty port on the back of the machine pretty soon. The dongle hanging out the side always bothered me anyways. Thanks for the offer, though! I'll try to get that horn recorded either Friday or Saturday, by the way.
You know, I was thinking about this and I remembered I had a friend who put a fog horn on his VW bug. One of those super loud and deep horns that ships use, you guessed it, in the fog. It would scare many a person.

I want one of those, too! Not for at the same time, but maybe a rotation. First the ooga for 4 months, then the air horns for 4 months, then the fog horn for 4 months. :D
My dad used to have an oooga horn on his '53 Ford pickup. It sure was loud! Funny thing is I bet he still has that thing. I remember him having it back in '74.

My brother works for a Tractor Trailer fixit shop in Oklahoma City. There was one guy that rolled in to have his brakes worked on. My brother found out that he had train horns installed backwards behind that aero-shield thingy they put on top of the trucks. He said it was the loudest horn he has heard yet on any road vehicle. I assume it would scare the living sheeeet out of anyone close enough. Maybe I could put a set of those bad boys in the bed of my F-150?
