Was working on a CA18DET swap, never got to it. Unfortunately, since I got the RS I have lost a lot of interest in the 510. I need to get back into it though, its a cool little car!

I am working on the 207 swap for the RS, I was thinking about a 251 swap for the 510, we'll see!

I was thinking about going that route, turbo, non-turbo, either way it would be a lot of fun! BRE paint scheme is too played out to me. Being in Cali, there is a lot of them especially when you go to the Japanese Classic Car Show, way too many with that scheme. The scheme I was going for was all the trim and bumper a satin black and the car alpine white on bronze TE37s. Had the rims but sold them and was gonna paint it but never got to it. :(

Cough* L28. If you want you could just sell and ship the car to meh?
L28 is a little too big for the car IMO. Way to much modification to the firewall and interior for me. There is someone that did a 7MGTE in a wagon. Probably very insane!!

I figured it was too long. Ive never seen an inline 6 swapped into a 510 chassis. Second choice would be an sr20de with itbs.

It is very long, a lot of modifications would have to be made. I wanted to do a different swap since all the 510 guys are doing SRs and KAs. I refuse to put a rotary, another common swap. I haven't seen too many n/a SR swaps, with ITBs would look really cool. I'll have to look into that. I have to find out if the FWD SR ITBs from a GTIR would fit on a RWD Silvia Q's SR.

Yep, ive even seen a carb swapped sr. The pulsar itbs fit im pretty sure, i think theres some modification needed, but not much. Theres an adapter for the Toyota ae 4 throttle to make it fit.

yeah, the BRE thing is pretty played out...but fucking hell is it hot looking. was just thinking about the sunny/pulsar GTi-R awd system..wonder if that is able to be stuffed under there.

Whoa whoa whoa, how'd this turn into a Nissan swap thread, lol. But it is possible to mate a FWD engine to a RWD trans and do a swap that way, but the AWD system from a pulsar might be a tough try. That damn 510 is a tiny car.

Nice job so far on the RS. Love the look of the STI wheel, Ive been thinking of getting one. :drool: The guy that has it wants $350.. Im not ready to commit. :wtf:

Sounds expensive to me, I got one for 250 shipped. Look around, you can find some good deals

Yeah 350 is way high. i found one a couple years back for around 175. Maybe i was just lucky..:lol:

Been a few days, time for a wee update.

Figured I'd be a trunk monkey and get my car setup for snowboarding and putting in new trunk lining I found at the junkyard. Nothing fancy, but had factory doors to open up to get the taillight bulbs without tearing the trunk apart.




Mods to the rear baffle board and sound deadening so I can actually pass thing through!
