Hello my fellow GC8 owners,

I know that some of you are interested in the centrifugal supercharger kit that we are working on currently, and I am hoping, more like praying at some points, that I won't keep you waiting too much longer. Some of you have asked for updates on our progress, and in my efforts to oblige I am adding emails of all those interested to my address book. I already have some of you, but if it isn't too much trouble I would like to ask those of you with interest to shoot me an email at [email protected] and I will add you to my list of those seeking updates. Thanks again and hopefully we can get some boost going in all these GC8s soon and blow some WRX doors off.

No. As a matter of fact I hope to have nothing in our business even remotely resemble anything Rick Rimmer has ever done in his life. I hope that DNT Performance and Rimmer Engineering are never mentioned in the same sentence after this one, other than to say "I wish Rimmer had been an honest businessman, and had a decent product like the guys at DNT"

Okay folks, I am going to type up a new update sometime today and it will let everyone know exactly where I am and what is going on.

8Complex, I am planning on putting a site up sometime in the near future, but I have too much crap going on this time of year to try right now. However, what I am doing is not a mailing list as the internet normally describes it. All I am doing is typing up an Email that is going to detail pretty much all there is about the kit, then I will send out another once I get something accomplished, for instance I hope to be sending one out in a week or so saying "I finally have the prototype mounting bracket completed" So that folks that are interested in the kit will know how far along we are in the development process, and how long they will have to wait. I really don't consider it a mailing list, I am just trying to keep my potential customers enlightened on things.

Templar - Ahhhh ok, I gotcha. Out of curiousity, how do you expect the performace of the centrifugal charger to look? I know it'll need to spool up to it's effecieny point, but wondering how low the spool is. Also, is it a sealed unit, or do you need an oil feed for it?

I've been considering a supercharger forever, even going as far as wanting to design one (have drawn up CAD models of everything at one point), money has always been the drawback, though. Hope your kit goes through and performs well... I'd be pretty interested in it even though I've already got the turbo sitting in my garage (well... maybe if the price came down a bit, but thats coming from someone who's willing to design one too, so no offense :) ).

Excellent..

You got the right Idea with the centrifugal blower...It will perform very much like a turbo...and I feel that they are more suited to the high RPMs that our smaller displacement engines like to operate at...Keep it up, I can't wait to see pictures...Any idea on the costs of this setup?

Ok, lots of questions, let me try to get them all.

It will require an oil feed and oil cooler, the cooler and necessary lines will be included. It does not have to drain into the pan. An oil filter relocation adaptor is all that is necessary to feed the oil back into the engine. This wil be included as well.
I believe I mentioned earlier that due to the seals in the unit, natural oil must be run. Synthetic oil has something in it that is bad for the seals in these unit. This is all the details I have from the company on this matter.

At 3000 rpm you will be running close to 2 psi which will provide you with a good deal more torque and power than stock, from there on up the boost pressures will rise very quickly as the rpms rise, up to 6 psi at around 6000 rpm. So during hard driving, which in my car means 4500 to 6200, you will be running in between 3 and 6 pounds of boost the entire time.

We are hoping to be ready with kits by February of next year, although if I have learned anything since the beginning of this undertaking, it is that you can never count on time estimates. But it will be next spring at the absolute latest.

We are thinking that the Stage I kit is going to come in just under $3000

If you would like any more info, feel free to email me.

I really like the idea of a Super charger. I mean the Rotex super chargers hold alot of promise for our cars. But I would really like to see an Eaton Roots style compressor.

See I run AutoX, and instant Torque is far more useful on an AutoX Couse than "build up" type. I want full boost at 2000 RPM or below. That kind of power.

Yeh I know it lowers overall peak HP and such, but its much more productive in some competition areas. It would also SPANK WRX's on technical AutoX courses with the instant power Vs the LAG that you would have with Cynt. S/C's and Turbos.

Just my take on it :)

Scooby doo, I answered in the other thread.

Anyone else who has interest in being updated on out progress. Send me an email. I sent out an update yesterday, and I just sent out a little addition to that.
