I have done a full 1998 rs swap on my 1996 impreza and the connectors for the 1996 wiper motor is different. Has anyone made the older motor work with the rs harness?

Is there a different number pins between the two? Do you have your old harness? I bet you can de-pin/repin the 96 plug onto the RS harness.

Ive done that a bunch for fans, lights and various other things on Subarus over the years. It works great.

IIRC the newer imprezas had an updated intermittent wiper stalk while the older models have a regular stalk, that would contribute to the wiring difference. You can also likely swap over a new motor, it's only 5 bolts I think. I might actually even have one sitting around somewhere. 98-07 are the same, or at least the connectors are identical.
