so the other day, i went to 7-11 and went to go put my 99 RS in park. and the shift lock was only pressing in maybe half the way it normally would, and i had to put some serious muscle to put the car in park. is this the tranny going downhill? or just the shift lock?

Did it happen just once or still happens? i think it's just the shift lock tbh, did you try taking off the cover and looking at it? If your gonna, take pics so it could help us more

still happens, but if i push the shifter right a lil it helps to throw it into park. ill take everything apart later when the sun goes down. its like 90 here

well, took my car to the mechanic to get new struts put in, and either he fixed it for me but didnt tell me (maybe he thought he did it), or it fixed itself. 1 less thing to worry about!
