I had a friend that used my vf23 on his bugeye and said it was amazing, he loved the turbo on that engine.

I miss your rs but excited to see what's in store for this one!

my VF48 has the same OK on it...

I LOVED the 23. Mine whined a bit so I was concerned leaving it on a DD, but man do I miss it. I'd pick it over the 48 any day.

yeah, the only thing is that the 23's are very old to find a good used one and i figure 1k for new stock small turbo is a lot to spend so this wasn't a bad deal at all and they know to make good power also, despite the new bearing design on them.

Hey guys, is the Sti cat back really worth to have instead of the 02-04 dual tips?

I'm probably gonna run a shorty downpipe mainly bc I want the car quiet and traffic friendly with others. Anyone that has done this simple exhaust swap can leave an opinion.

STI - 2.5"
WRX - 2.25"

I like how the STI sounds better (ran it with both a HFC and catless)

Yeah I knew about diameter difference but it haven't really heard the Sti exhaust. Everyone that I know always has aftermarket.

Well hopefully is nothing to worry about, was it full catless way louder? People says is raspy also when catless?

Prepping some of the parts before they go in the car. repaired some fins and painted the TMIC. i don't want a show car engine bay but at least something decent looking

did some work during the last week and weekend, finished yesterday.

stage 2 is somewhat fun, that running out of the OTS map.

got a nice exhaust leak also, looks like the donut gasket or the 3rd cat gasket is not sealing well, storming provided a bad sized gasket with the shorty downpipe. i had to reuse the old worn out gasket plus the new one to somewhat seal there.

car is now running the vf48 setup, feels good but it also feels like there's more left on the table, need a bit more boost and fine tuning to really wake up.

low n slow!
